SPC to Host APPE's 8th Annual Ethics Bowl

8^th Annual Ethics Bowl

St. Philip’s 大学 will host the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics (APPE) Eighth Annual Two-Year 大学 Ethics Bowl National Competition on Saturday, 11月23日, 2019, from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

APPE is an international organization that advances scholarships, education and practice in professional ethics by challenging and teaching student’s ethics and values in a debate-style competition. 

自1997年以来, the Ethics Bowl was created to focus on ethics education by creating a competitive and exciting experience where students can create an open dialog to ethical problems they may face during their education. Each team consists of one to five students and one or more coaches. Teams are given a set of cases that present ethics issues containing questions that engage students in ethics discussions. The answers to the questions will then be evaluated by judges in four categories: intelligibility, 深度, focus and judgment.

The team that wins this two-year competition becomes the National Two-Year Champion and qualifies to compete in the National (Four-Year) Ethics Bowl Competition at the APPE National Convention in Atlanta, 2020年2月.
