SPC Needs Your Vote To Secure Top 10 Spot In Retool Your School Competition

March 16, 2021

St. Philip’s College is currently a top 10 contestant for the “Retool Your School” campus-improvement grant program and is seeking the support of alumni, students, staff, faculty, and the San Antonio community for a bonus round of voting to secure its spot. The bonus round is taking place Tuesday, March 16, 2021, until 11:59 pm.

The social media-driven grant competition, sponsored by Home Depot, Inc., relies on a combination of online voting and social media posting to determine its winners. The 70 HBCUs eligible to compete in this year’s competition will be placed into one of three clusters based on their enrollment—St. Philip’s College will compete in Cluster 1.

The Home Depot “Retool Your School” program strives to give back to the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that have generously provided their communities with a strong foundation, a renewed purpose, and a distinctive character.  Grants are awarded based on a total popular vote that combines unlimited daily online voting at www.retoolyourschool.com/vote and social media “voting” that counts Twitter and Instagram posts that include the hashtag #SPC_RYS21. For posts on social media to count, the user’s account must be public. There is no limit to the number of times the hashtag can be used in a day or the number of times one can vote online. To vote online, click on Cluster 1, search for SPC's logo, and select “Vote Now”.
